What We Believe
At Worship In My City, we believe God transforms people in His presence.
We are a Christ-centered formation community committed to helping people become whole worshipers through worship, prayer, biblical truth, authentic community, and Spirit-led discipleship.
We believe worship is more than expression. It is transformation.
We believe God heals, roots, forms, and releases His people.
We believe discipleship should shape the whole personβspiritually, emotionally, relationally, and purposefully.
We believe believers are called not only to encounter God, but to be made whole in Him and sent into the world with courage, clarity, and Kingdom purpose.

The Whole Worshiper Foundation
Presence
We believe transformation begins in the presence of God.
Through worship, prayer, stillness, and communion with the Holy Spirit, believers are refreshed, renewed, and anchored in Godβs love.
Healing
We believe Jesus heals.
We believe God restores what pain, sin, trauma, fear, and brokenness have distorted. We believe worship can be a place of restoration, safety, renewal, and honest surrender before God.
Identity
We believe people flourish when they know who they are in Christ.
God calls His people out of shame, fear, striving, and performance into sonship, belonging, freedom, and rootedness.
Formation
We believe spiritual maturity is built over time through Scripture, prayer, obedience, community, sound doctrine, and the work of the Holy Spirit.
We are committed to raising believers who are not only inspired, but deeply formed.
Commission
We believe every believer has a God-given purpose.
We are called not only to encounter God, but to be sent by Him into our homes, cities, churches, communities, industries, and spheres of influence.
Table of Contents OF BELIEFS
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative, and trustworthy Word of God. It reveals Godβs nature, His redemptive plan, and His will for how we are to live. Scripture is our foundation for truth, doctrine, correction, discipleship, and spiritual formation.
Deuteronomy 4:1β2; Psalm 119:11, 89, 105; Proverbs 30:5; Isaiah 40:8; Matthew 22:29; John 5:39; 16:13β15; 17:17; Romans 15:4; 16:25β26; 2 Timothy 3:15β17; Hebrews 1:1β2; 4:12; 1 Peter 1:25; 2 Peter 3:16.
God
We believe there is one true God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is holy, all-powerful, all-knowing, loving, faithful, and worthy of all worship, obedience, and trust.
1 John 5:7; Genesis 1:26; Matthew 28:19; Matthew 3:16β17; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 9:6; Hebrews 3:7β11.
God the Father
We believe God the Father is perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. He is Creator, Sustainer, and Lord over all. He is compassionate, faithful to His promises, and draws people to Himself through His mercy and grace.
Exodus 3:14; Numbers 23:19; Leviticus 11:44β45; 19:2; Psalm 11:4β6; Malachi 3:6; John 3:16; 4:24; 5:26; 14:1; Acts 17:28; Romans 3:3β4.
Jesus Christ the Son
We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose bodily from the grave, ascended to the Father, and will come again in glory. Through Jesus alone we receive salvation, reconciliation with God, and eternal life.
Isaiah 7:14; 53; Matthew 1:18β23; 3:17; 8:29; 14:33; 16:16; 28:5β6; Luke 1:27β35; 22:70; 24:46β47; John 1:1, 14; 10:30; 11:25β27; 17:1β5; Acts 1:9; 2:22β24; 7:55β56; Romans 1:3β4; 3:23β26; 8:1β3; 10:4; 1 Corinthians 8:6; 2 Corinthians 5:19β21; Galatians 4:4β5; Philippians 2:5β11; Colossians 1:15; 2:9; 1 Timothy 2:5β6; 3:16.
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God and actively at work in the earth today. He convicts of sin, leads into truth, glorifies Jesus, empowers believers, gives spiritual gifts, produces fruit in the life of the believer, and forms us into the likeness of Christ. We believe the Holy Spirit still moves in power and that His gifts are active and relevant today.
Genesis 1:2; Psalm 51:11; 139:7; Isaiah 61:1β3; Joel 2:28β32; Mark 1:10; Luke 1:35; 4:1; 11:13; 12:12; John 15:26; 16:7β14; Acts 1:5, 8; 2:1β4; 13:2; Romans 8:9β11, 14β16, 26β27; Galatians 5:22β23; 1 Corinthians 3:16; 12:1β11; Ephesians 1:13β14; 2 Peter 1:21; Revelation 22:17.
Humanity
We believe every person is created in the image of God and therefore carries dignity, value, and worth. Humanity was created for fellowship with God, but through sin became separated from Him. Because of sin, no person can restore themselves to right relationship with God apart from His grace.
Genesis 1:26β30; 2:7, 18β22; 3; Psalm 8:3β6; 32:1β5; 51:5; Isaiah 6:5; Jeremiah 17:5; Acts 17:26β31; Romans 1:19β32; 3:10β18, 23; 5:6; 6:6; 7:14β25; 1 Corinthians 1:21β31; 15:19, 21β22; Ephesians 2; Colossians 1:21β22; 3:9β11.
Sin, Repentance, and Salvation
We believe all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Salvation is found only through faith in Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross. It is the gift of God by grace, not something earned through human effort. We believe repentance is a Spirit-led turning away from sin and a turning toward God in faith, surrender, and obedience.
Genesis 1:26β31; 3:17; Acts 2:38; 3:19; Romans 5:12β21; Isaiah 1:18; 53:5β6; 55:7; Matthew 1:21; 27:22β66; 28:1β6; Luke 1:68β69; 2:28β32; John 1:12; 3:16, 36; 5:24; Acts 2:21; 4:12; 16:30β31; Romans 1:16β18; 3:23β25; 5:8β10; 6:1; 10:9β10; 2 Corinthians 5:17β20; Galatians 2:16, 20; 3:8, 13; Ephesians 2:8β10; Philippians 2:12β13; Hebrews 9:22β28; Revelation 3:20.
The Church
We believe the Church is the Body of Christ, made up of all believers who have placed their faith in Jesus. The Church exists to worship God, make disciples, proclaim the gospel, cultivate community, serve others, and demonstrate the love and power of Christ in the world.
Matthew 16:18β19; 18:15β20; Acts 2:41β47; 5:11β14; 13:1β3; 14:23; 16:5; 20:28; 1 Corinthians 7:17; 9:13β14; 12; Ephesians 1:22β23; 2:19β22; 3:10β12; 5:22β32; Colossians 1:18; 3:15; 1 Timothy 4:14; 1 Peter 5:1β4; Revelation 21:2β3.
Prayer
We believe prayer is essential to the life of every believer and to the life of the Church. Through Jesus, we have direct access to the Father. Prayer is communion with God, alignment with His will, and partnership with His purposes in the earth. We believe nothing of lasting spiritual significance can be sustained without prayer.
Psalm 145:18; Proverbs 15:29; Matthew 7:11; Luke 18:1; Romans 8:26; Philippians 4:6; Colossians 4:2; 1 Thessalonians 5:17; 1 Timothy 2:8.
Worship
We believe worship is a response to the worthiness of God and a lifestyle of surrender, love, obedience, and adoration. Worship is not limited to music or gatherings; it is the daily offering of our lives to God. We believe worship also forms us, drawing us deeper into Godβs presence and shaping us into His likeness.
Romans 12:1; John 4:23β24; Psalm 95:1β7; Psalm 96:9; Hebrews 13:15.Β
BAPTISM
We believe baptism is a public declaration of faith in Jesus Christ and a symbolic act of identifying with His death, burial, and resurrection. While baptism does not save, it is an important act of obedience for every believer.
Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Mark 16:16; Acts 8:12, 36β38; 10:47β48.
COMMUNION
We believe Communion, or the Lordβs Supper, is a sacred act of remembrance in which believers honor the body and blood of Jesus Christ and remember His sacrifice until He comes again.
Matthew 26:26β28; 1 Corinthians 10:16; 11:23β25.
Spiritual Gifts
We believe God gives spiritual gifts to believers for the building up of the Church, the strengthening of the Body of Christ, and the witness of Jesus in the world. We believe these gifts are active today and should be exercised in love, order, humility, and biblical wisdom.
1 Corinthians 12:4β11; 1 Peter 4:10.
Five-Fold Ministry
We believe Christ has given apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers to equip the saints for the work of ministry and to build up the Church. We affirm the ongoing need for Spirit-led leadership that equips believers toward maturity, unity, and mission.
Ephesians 4:8β13; 1 Corinthians 12:4β30; 14:29β31; Galatians 3:26β29; Philippians 4:3; Romans 16:1β7.
Healing
We believe Jesus is Healer. We believe God heals spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically according to His will and power. We believe healing is part of the ministry of Jesus and that believers are invited to pray in faith, trust Godβs heart, and minister His restoration to others.
Luke 9:11; Matthew 9:35; Acts 10:38; Matthew 10:1.
SANTIFICATION
We believe sanctification is the lifelong process of becoming more like Jesus. Through the work of the Holy Spirit, the truth of Scripture, and a life of surrender, believers are transformed in character, conduct, and desire.
Romans 6:19; Galatians 5:22β25.
Love
We believe God is love. His love is holy, transforming, and redemptive. Because He has loved us, we are called to love Him fully and love others with compassion, truth, humility, justice, mercy, and honor.
Psalm 68:5β6; 1 John 4:16.
Wholeness
We believe God desires to bring His people into increasing wholeness. This includes spiritual renewal, emotional healing, mental renewal, relational health, and growth in wisdom and stewardship. We do not believe in a shallow or formulaic view of blessing, but we do believe God cares about every dimension of our lives and invites us to trust Him with all of it.
John 3:3; 11; Romans 10:9β10; 2 Corinthians 5:17β21; Isaiah 26:3; 2 Timothy 1:7; Romans 12:2; Isaiah 53:4β5; Matthew 8:17; 1 Peter 2:24; Deuteronomy 28:1β14; Joshua 1:8; Psalm 34:10; 84:11; Malachi 3:10.
Marriage, Sexuality, and Covenant
We believe marriage is a covenant established by God between one man and one woman. We believe sexual intimacy is a gift from God intended for marriage. We are committed to upholding biblical truth while also leading with compassion, humility, prayer, and love.
Genesis 1:26β27; 2:18β24; 1 Corinthians 6:9β10, 18β20; 1 Corinthians 7:2β5; Hebrews 13:4; Romans 1:18β32; Leviticus 18:22; 20:13.
The Return of Christ
We believe Jesus Christ will return personally, visibly, and gloriously. Though no one knows the day or hour, we live with readiness, faithfulness, hope, and expectation.
Matthew 24:30; 26:63β64; Acts 1:9β11; 1 Thessalonians 4:15β17; 2 Thessalonians 1:7β8; Revelation 1:7.
Eternity
We believe every person will live eternallyβeither in union with God through salvation in Jesus Christ or eternally separated from Him. We believe heaven and hell are real, and that eternal life is found only in Christ.
Matthew 5:3, 12, 20; 6:20; 19:21; 25:34, 41; Mark 9:43β48; John 3:16, 36; Romans 6:23; Hebrews 9:27; 11:16; 1 John 2:25; 5:11β13; Revelation 14:9β11; 20:12β15; 21:8.
